Case Study – Normandie Château

Brief:

La Belle France In a beautiful setting in rural Normandie sits a most prestigious Chateau. Privately owned and superbly managed the Château is available for both Bed and Breakfast or full or part rental.

Obviously Fire Safety is paramount and London Fire Risk Assessments were engaged to carry out an informal visual inspection of the Chateau and the associated buildings.

The requirement was for the occupants of the Chateau to be made safe from Fire. If there was a Fire to be alerted to its presence, to be able to safety evacuate and for the occupants to be able to, if necessary extinguish a small Fire in the initial stages.

Key Considerations:

    • Fire Prevention
    • Automatic Fire Detection and Manual Fire Alarm provisions
    • Means of Escape
    • Fire Resistance, Fire Separation and acceptable Travel Distances
    • Fire Fighting Provisions
    • Fire Safety Planning, Procedures and Training

Result:

London Fire Risk Assessments were able to give informal Fire Safety advice and solutions based on experience and knowledge, common sense and realistic expectations.

The owners were rightly more concerned with Life Safety and Property protection rather than just satisfying legislative requirements and we were able to satisfy this in an understandable, acceptable and sustainable way.

This was our first step in becoming a truly ‘International Company!!!’
