FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT AUDITS AND REVIEWS

An IFE spokesman says... "the uncertainty that will almost certainly arise with the introduction of the RRO and the abolition of the fire certificates makes it more crucial than ever before that professional fire risk assessment services can be relied upon to comply properly with the law and provide management with the best possible fire safety advice and guidance".

The Chairman of the Fire Industry Confederation states: "We encourage the development of third party certification schemes to provide businesses with peace of mind that they are choosing a competent supplier. The rapidly growing fire risk assessment consultancy market is unregulated and confusing for buyers – this is a potentially dangerous situation, as incorrect advice may be given by unqualified consultants. The IFE register is a step towards defining the competence of fire risk assessment consultants to alleviate this situation".

London Fire & Emergency Planning Authority

This Authority, as enforcing authority for the (Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005,) has no powers to formally validate a risk assessment...

• Who then, can tell you if you have received a "...professional Fire Risk Assessment service...?"
• Who can tell you if your Fire Risk Assessment contains, correct advice given by a qualified person in a competent way?

LONDON FIRE RISK ASSESSMENTS

Clive Lewis – Director of London Fire Risk Assessments, built on his knowledge and experience as a Watch Manager, Fire Safety, London Fire Brigade Inspecting Officer, to gain accreditation with the Institute of Fire Engineers as a Life Safety, Fire Risk Assessment Auditor. Clive Lewis is only the second person in London and the South-East to have done so.

If anyone is qualified to audit a Fire Risk Assessment, a Fire Emergency Plan and Fire Safety Management Plan, then Clive Lewis is.

Fire Risk Assessments should be reviewed and revised on a regular basis to reflect any new process or introduction of additional Ignition Sources and Fire Loading. The Fire Risk Assessment should address structural, internal, facility and furniture changes. Changes in occupancy areas, types and levels. Changes in Hazards and associated Risks.

Clive Lewis - Director of London Fire Risk Assessments, built on his knowledge and experience as a Watch Manager A, Fire Safety, London Fire Brigade Inspection Officer, to gain accreditation with the Institution of Fire Engineers as a Life Safety, Fire Risk Assessment Auditor. Upon leaving the Fire Authority Clive could no longer be registered as a Fire Risk Auditor but qualified for, and is now registered as a Fire Risk Assessor.
